Interview with Upendra Yadev

Prime Minister KP Shrama Oli said that the government was determined to monitor human rights situations to ensure that they were not breached by anyone.
Speaking at a function organised to mark the 16th anniversary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday, PM Oli stressed that issues of human rights were not concerns of a limited period, rather of a lifelong importance. He maintained that he was aware about it.
He also commented that the definition of human rights “should not be different according to difference in perception.”
Discussing the ongoing human rights situations, the PM said the government had invited the agitating parties to solve the matters through dialogues.
On the occasion, NHRC Chairperson Anup Raj Sharma also urged the stakeholders including the government to work jointly with the constitutional human rights watchdog in order to protect and promote human rights in the country.
