Yamaha India has finally launched the high anticipated Yamaha YZF-R3 in Delhi today. The Yamaha R3 will be locally assembled with CKD kits manufactured in Indonesia. The prices (ex-showroom Delhi) start from INR 3.25 Lakhs. The fully-faired Yamaha YZF-R3 sports bike features a dynamic design that looks modern yet familiar. It comes in only two color options: Racing Blue (combination of white and blue graphics) and Black Lightning (black paint job with red graphics). The Yamaha YZF-R3 is powered by a 321 cc twin-cylinder, fuel injected engine delivering 42 PS and 29.6 Nm of torque through a 6-speed transmission. Noteworthy performance-oriented features include offset forged pistons, aluminum cylinder block for lighter weight, carburized connecting rods and a direct drive camshaft. The engine rpm redline is between 12,500 – 13,500. It weighs 169 kg (wet weight), and stopping power comes courtesy of a 298 mm disc up front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. An ABS system is offered as optional equipment. The R3’s suspension features the standard telescopic forks up front and a mono shock setup at the back.The Yamaha YZF-R3 enters into an emerging bike segment that comprises of established rivals like the KTM RC390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
